A Question For Me?

Changeling

I watched the movie Changeling in the cinema recently.

It's a nice movie which makes you think a lot. One of the good things about the show is that it is based on a real incident which happened many years back in America. It tells of Christine Collins who's son mysteriously disappeared while she was away working. After a few months, the police notify her that they had found her son. However, the boy sent to her was not her son although the police kept insisting it was. They locked her in a mental institution without a warrant as she had threatened to expose their corruption and wrongdoings.

Luckily, a boy came forward and told the police that he had been an accomplice to murder of 20 boys around the country. And he identified that one of the boys he helped to kill was Christine's son. After a thorough investigation and a court trial, the police system was revamped and several changed were amended to the law. Although the police could not prove that Christine's son was one of the 20 who were brutally murdered, Christine believed that he was still alive and kept on looking for him. Nevertheless, she never found him although she looked for him till the day she died.

It's a touching story, one that makes you assess your life and think about the choices you make. A recommended show, but a reminder, some of the scenes are a little gruesome and gory.

Anyway, it's one of those better shows to watch compared to all those chick flicks.
